Thank you Arlington line dancers!

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post my thanks. I finally found the pink
envelope and all of the beautiful notes and wishes from all of you. I was over-
whelmed by your generosity of cards, gifts, $ and personal notes. The cupcakes
were great too! I miss you all so much, but am enjoying the weather,  the beautiful
surroundings and especially being with family.

There are places to line dance here, but they are still shut down due to Covid. We
have been busy getting settled in, but now it is starting to feel like home and we
can start to think of other things.  Today I climbed a tall ladder and picked 10
pounds of fresh apricots off of a tree at the Greenbluff, so now I will need to make
some pies or preserves. We also stopped at Fleur de Provence lavender farm
and cut a big bunch of lavender. So there is a lot to do outdoors in the summer
here. Tomorrow I plan to take my bicycle out on a trail. If I can't dance, I will
bicycle.

I am so happy that you are keeping the group going.  I hear Catherine is doing a
great job teaching as I knew she would. Thank you Catherine! Thanks Pam for
taking over the blog, And thanks to Cyndi, Mary Pat, Connie for helping lead
dances, and all of you for doing your part to keep line dance alive in Arlington.
When Covid is over, I will be back to go with you to an event like in the old days.

Thanks again for the Beautiful Goodbye. I miss you all. God bless! 💃Love, Judy

The Dance-Off Blitz!

Hello fellow line dancers! We had 14 dancers enjoy today's dance off! Many thanks to our enduring leader Catherine for her high-energy direction! We got a good workout for sure!

Due to the latest mandates, we were required to wear masks during our workout. Since we are a tough bunch, we managed to get through that bit of discomfort. Mitsuko came sporting a face shield. It was NICE to see her face! She reported it is easier to breathe while wearing it than a face mask.

See you next week. In the meantime, stay safe - and cool, too. 💦

No Dance On Friday!

Hi Dancers -

Time for a holiday! The rec center will be closed on Friday July 3 to celebrate July 4 so we will not have class. We will meet back again on Friday, July 10.

We had 13 dancers on Friday through-out the morning. Some in our group opted to sit this one out due to increasing virus cases. Many thanks to our volunteer dance leaders for their patience and time!

We are having a tough time here in TX. Please remember your social distancing while you are enjoying that hot dog on July 4. Drink plenty of water just to avoid any other problems!

Stay safe, everyone!

A Memorable Friday!

Hello fellow line dancers! We had a wonderful line dance class this afternoon led by our dance leaders Cyndi, Catherine, Connie, and Mary Pat. We also had a visit from Judy, our former instructor extraordinaire! Judy taught us a new line dance for old time's sake, then the class danced to Beautiful Goodbye as we bade her farewell. Judy will be moving to Spokane, WA to be closer to family. Many former class members also attended today to wish Judy well. Many, many thanks to all of those who brought cupcakes, cards, and decorations to help us celebrate! We hate to see you go Judy, and will miss you greatly. We appreciate all you have done for us to make line dancing so much fun over these past years. Godspeed!

Happy Mother's Day!

Jheron from Cliff Nelson called. He said they are working on opening up partially.
They will test things for 2 weeks the end of May. We are slotted for one hour each
Friday, May 22nd and 29th, from 1-  2 pm. Then they will make a summer
schedule. I told him I would check and see how you all feel about that.

However, I cannot put off telling you any longer. All good things come to an end.
My husband and I have bought a house in Spokane, WA, about 8 miles from our
kids. We will close on it in 1 month, but it probably will take us longer to sell and move.

The shingles pain and itching continue to bother me and I have to take drugs that
turn me into a zombie. It throws off my balance too, so I have not been doing
much dancing, virtual or otherwise. They say 3-4 weeks and I think I am on
week 4.

I have been talking to Jheron about a new teacher and we have a couple of
possibilities, but the days would probably be different. Let me know your thoughts.

StreamLine has organized virtual classes five days a week, Monday through Friday.

They also have videos of dances that have been taught in week 1.

Another virtual option

For those of you who would like something a little more challenging, Bradley Mather will be doing a Classics class on Monday & Thursday at 4 p.m. EST (3:30 Central) on his facebook page bradley.matherpro.3.  The first dance is to honor Kenny Rogers who just passed away, Islands In The Stream.  I think this first one will be a video until he can work out the bugs on live but either way it should be fun.

Videos of dances from H.O.T.

Although I did not get to H.O.T., I know they taught a lot of new dances.
Here is a link to videos of many of the dances taught at the event. In your
spare time you could look at them and make a list of the ones you like.
Send me your list. 💃

Virtual line dance class

Ira Weisburd is having a virtual line dance class every Tuesday morning
from 9:30-11:30 am CDT. The dances are easy and fun. You don’t have to
be on Facebook to do the class, just use the link below.
I think the videos will stay active so you can still see this week’s class.
There were a few glitches with everything backwards at first, but that is
all worked out now that the camera was reversed. It is a challenge to try
to do technology yourself from your dining room. I think it is great that
he is doing this for all of us. You also see his wife, Diane and their cute
Little dog, Amber. Check it out. Thanks Ira!

Dance classes canceled through the end of March

I just got a call from Cliff Nelson Rec Center.  The facility will be closed for the rest of the month.
Schools are all canceled as well. I will keep you updated if things change. I will try to post some dances with youtube videos each week so you can practice at home if you like. Hopefully the Covid-19 will not last long if we all take measures to limit the transmission. Wash your hands. Use hand sanitizer. Keep a hopeful positive attitude. I will miss you all! 😷💃💓

Happy New Year!

When I was a child, thinking about 2020 would have been like science fiction. And here we are starting a new decade; pretty amazing. I wish all of you a happy, healthy and blessed year!🎊
